About Me
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley.
My main interests include bioethics, history and philosophy of biology, and philosophy of race. In May 2025, I earned my Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Utah under the direction of Dr. James Tabery.
My dissertation project investigated the history of the intersection of race and pharmacogenetics and geneticists' perspectives on racial health disparities. Other recent research projects involve expert perspectives on genetic causation and the role of inductive risk in genetic explanations.
Before coming to Utah, I earned my MFA at the University of Arkansas in Poetry and before Arkansas, I earned my BA in Philosophy and German at Wellesley College.
My free time is spent with my partner and my two cats. I enjoy cooking South Indian food, hiking and fishing, reading feminist science fiction, and doing needlework.
